Biden and the Curse of Secret Papers... Papers on five other documents at the US President's residence
The White House on Saturday confirmed reports that Joe Biden's lawyers had found more classified documents in Biden's library at one of the US president's homes when he was vice president from 2009 to 2017.
Attorney Richard Sauber said he searched the president's home in Wilmington last Thursday and found other documents in addition to those previously disclosed in the case that a special prosecutor was assigned to investigate.
The lawyer did not provide an explanation as to why the US administration waited two full days to submit a report on the number of documents found. Especially since the White House is in the crosshairs of criticism because it waited two full months before admitting to discovering a first set of papers in Biden's office.
The new developments come two days after US Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the appointment of a public prosecutor to investigate the issue of classified documents found at the president's residence and offices.
The White House and Biden himself had confirmed the finding of additional documents, which is the second confirmation within a week, so that today's announcement is the third. Where 5 secret documents were found. The lawyer was accompanied in his inspection mission by employees of the US Department of Justice, who immediately put their hands on those papers.
President Biden was exposed to the case last Thursday, saying: “Everything will become clear, I am sure of that,” referring to a matter reminiscent of what happened with former President Donald Trump, who carried secret documents with him that were found at his residence in Florida.
