Cybersecurity expert gives tips to reduce exposure to smartphone hacks

Tuff Marks, a cybersecurity expert, said hackers use a webcam or smartphone camera to spy on you.

"If there is the slightest flaw in the security of your device, sneaking through the bug can widen this gap for full access, as the hacker only needs to plant a small piece of malicious code to access the cameras, and users may never know that they are being attacked."

Marks also shared tips on reducing the risk of being attacked, such as using a camera cover and constantly updating your operating system, most webcams have a small light to the left or right that turns on when the webcam is in use, in case the small light flashes on the webcam, be aware that someone may spy on you.

"With so many types of malware out there today, you may never be able to figure out where viruses or spyware are coming from, cybercrime is constantly evolving and you have to keep up with the latest developments to stay safe.

"You should use good protection and anti-virus apps, not open attachments in emails you don't trust and secure your WiFi network," he stated.
